Defrag a computer running steady state RRS feed

  • Is there a way to run defrag on a computer that is running steady state.

  • Yes. You can disable WDP (Windows Disk Protection) and then run defrag. Otherwise, defrag will be disabled by group policy in order to avoid any potential issue.

  • Now that I could understand that the Defrag wasn't working for me as well just because of the WDP enabled, I was wondering if steadystate by default performs any defragmentation as a part of its standard operation.
