Easy way to upgrade from Windows server 2008 to 2012 RRS feed

  • I'm currently using windows 2008 server, I want to move my Sever to Windows server 2012. Can you suggest me the easiest method for doign  this, It's running on Cloud as RDP  i  don't want to change any network settings also  i  want the login IP to look like xxxx  instead of random IP4 Address any method for doing this?

  • If question is that you want to have same IP4 and TCP/IP settings same after upgrade.

    You can have export the TCP/IP setting on a text file and after upgrade you can import on the 2012 server.

    To dump or export the TCP/IP configuration, use this command:

    netsh -c interface dump > PATH_AND_FILENAME.txt

    Use this command to import the TCP/IP configuration:

    netsh -f PATH_AND_FILENAME.txt
