block sent out email when an appoitment is created / updated RRS feed

  • Hi all

    We would like block the email announce to the appointment attendees, when an appointment with a specific category is created and/or updated. we are looking for a common  workaround on Office365 online service, outlook 2010 and Microsoft Exchange Activesync at the sametime?

    Could we implement a resticted rule/custom develop..or others  to avoid sent out email for this kind specific appointments?

  • Hi,

    Based on my knowledge, there is no such settings or rule to do it. Generally, the category information for a meeting will not be included in the meeting updates though you have send out it to attendees. It is just a local color information marked in the Calendar folder.

    As an meeting organizer, we can save the meeting categories for the appointment locally instead of sending updates to attendees as a workaround. After changing a category for the existing meeting, please click Save instead of "Send Updates" for best practice.
