Management Pack Question and SCCM import question

Question
-
We have SCOM 2007 R2 that we have been using for some time. We have setup SCSM and have alerts and data importing from SCOM into it no problem. My question is since we use the Exchange, Windows Clustering, Hyper-V, SQL, AD, etc.. MPs in OpsMgr is there any way to import the data from these MPs into SCSM? When I go to the properties of the CI conenctor for SCOM it doesn't show them listed in the available MPs to import from SCOM.
I am trying to setup business servcies and for example when I go to add an item of Windows Cluster class it can't find any items as the list is empty in SCSM but in SCOM I have the full diagram and everything is working.
2nd question is is there a way to have the software inventory data collected by SCCM imported into SCSM CI items under software? I see it import the software updates, computers, servers, processors, drives, etc... but no software is showing for us.

Hi Dan,
You need to import the management packs (MP or XML files) that are loaded in your SCOM server. The management packs provide the data structure for the items that are then imported from the OM server using the CI connector. The MPs will show up on the list in the connector properties. Check the MP to import the CIs associated with it.
You will need to enable Asset Intelligence in SCCM to get the software inventory data.

To answer your first question:
You have to import the SCOM MPs manually in SCSM 2010. Same procedure for the MPs with the services you defined in SCOM.
There is no sync between SCOM 2007 and SCSM 2010 V1.2nd answer:
If you activated the Asset Intelligence feature in SCCM and the software of the computers is inventoried in SCCM you shoud see the software as a CI in the CMDB of SCSM after the succesful sync between SCCM and SCSM. Also the installed software should be visible at the computer CIs.

Also - in some cases the objects may be of classes that are not included in the out of the box 'Allowed List' and you'll need to modify that list. More information here:
