Cannot delete empty folders that had contained files from VSS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using VSS 6.0c on a Windows 10/64-bit computer. By and large the VSS works fine even though it is supposedly incompatible.

The issue I am having is that I cannot delete empty folders in Windows if the folder had at one point contained a file from the VSS (either Get Latest or Check Out). I can deleted the files just fine, but not the folder. In order to delete the folder I have to close the VSS altogether; switching databases in the VSS doesn't help.

I understand from other users in the office that this has been an issue since Windows 7.

Under Win XP there was no such problem.

    Is there a workaround?
