Storage Pools in DPM 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am trialling DPM 2012 SP1 before a full roll out of Server 2012 & SC 2012 in a few months.  I am trying to get a test backup running but am having problems with Storage

I have setup an iSCSI VHD on a separate test box running Server 2012 and added this to the iSCSI Initiator on the DPM server.   I have then added this as a volume via Server Manager and added the disk to DPM.

However in DPM the disk is shown as having 0KB free - in Explorer it is shown as having 100% free space (I have not saved any files to it).

    What am I doing wrong?

    Many thanks

  • Hi Flanjman,

First, remove your disk from DPM (DPM Management Disk GUI).

In Windows disk management, verify that your disk appears as "Unallocated". If it is not the case, delete any existing partition.

Then add again your disk to DPM, your disk must be 100% unallocated.
