Hi All,
We have 20 licenses for windows server 2012 R2 standard but now we want to go for server 2016.
Do I have to buy new license for Win Server 2016 or not ?

Since this is a licensing question, I would recommend you to contact the the Microsoft licensing specialists.

Hi,
You will need to buy new license for windows server 2016. This article of Windows Server 2016 Licensing changes, which describes in detail the server license some old and new regulations. However, for the same version of the server, their licenses can be converted, as described in the following article:
