Direct to Calendar transport mail flow rules available for Exchange 2016 On-Prem? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have successfully used mail flow rules to automatically add meetings to calendars in Exchange Online (setting X-MS-Exchange-Organization-CalendarBooking-Response to accept/decline/tentative) for our Office 365 customers.  This has reduced insertion times when we migrate calendars into Office 365.

Although we can create identical transport rules in Exchange 2016 On Premise, they don't work.  Technet doc says is's the "Direct to Calendar" applies only to Exchange Online.  Has anyone gotten these rules to work on-prem?

    New-TransportRule -Name "Direct2Calendar" -From "yyy@xxx.com" -SetHeaderName "X-MS-Exchange-Organization-CalendarBooking-Response" -SetHeaderValue Accept

    New-TransportRule -Name "Direct2CalendarTriage" -From "yyy@xxx.com" -SetHeaderName "X-MS-Exchange-Organization-CalendarBooking-TriageAction" -SetHeaderValue MoveToDeletedItems

    Thanks,

    Russ

  • ExO is usually few CUs ahead of on-premises in terms of functionality. This one in particular is not yet available, afaik. You'll have to wait for a future CU, if it comes to on-premises at all.

  • Thanks -- I hoped something like this would be released sooner.  We'll see what CU7 contains.
