After downloading Microsoft fix it I get static when computer is on does not matter if audio files are being played or not. Have to mute to turn it off. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently downloaded Microsoft Fix it just for the heck of it.  Not really having any issues but thought it would be a nice tool to have.  I am running XP with service pack 3.  After downloading it I decided to let it check my computer.  After checking it I now have constant static even if I am not playing something with sound.

Let me know if you have any ideas or have had a similar occur.

  • Hi,

It might be your sound card which is faulty. Have you tried uninstalling the patch ? or even replacing your speaker to do a test on the hardware.

because all these while i have yet to came to know MSFT fix it causes hardware to died. But it will be interesting if it does. Anyway try and let me know again. I will be happy to assist you further on that :)
