TFS Synchronization: MS Project does not update its view of parent-child relationships RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm using MS Project 365 for managing my scrum backlog in our on-premise TFS server 2017. I can refresh and publish my items correctly. However when I change the parent-child links of items in TFS, this is not reflected in MS Project: when I click on "Refresh", the modified items remain in the same position in the Task Sheet View although I can see that the relationships are correctly updated when I click on "Links and Attachments" button. This is very confusing since in MS Project, indentation and position of the lines are supposed to match child/parent relationships. Is there a way to force MS Project to move the updated item to the right place in the tree  after a refresh ?

    Best regards,

    Sebastien.

  • The only workaround that I know is to delete all TFS work items and then import them again using "Get Work Items" button (but then you loose all MSProject-specific changes you made to those tasks).
