SharePoint Audit Log Trimming removed all events except recent ones. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

We have a Sharepoint 2013 environment with Audit Logging enabled.

We also configured audit log trimming as follows: http://clip2net.com/s/3fdLKL9

(Trimming: enabled; Optional log data retain period: Undefined; Logs location: /Audit reports)

At 30/03 Audit Log Trimming Timer Job removed all entries until 30/03/2015 and generated a report for the 27/02-30/03 period.

If I understand the log trimming concept, after configuring retain period as undefined at Site Collection level, my Audit Log Trimming Timer Job, using farm default settings, should remove all entries older than 30 days, right?

If I set audit log date retain period as 60 days or more at Site Collection level, Timer Job might have deleted all entries before "Today - 60days", right?

Please explain me, what have I done wrong? All those entries should not have been removed, as I supposed.

    Best regards,

  • It looks like leaving those optional field (log data retain period) empty means "retain period = 0"...
