PROBLEM: Win7RC Windows Firewall Service does not start automatically RRS feed

  • Question

  • Whenever I reboot the machine, I found that the Windows Firewall Service does not start automatically. I can go to Administrative Tools/Services and start it and then its ok.

I found 5 event log entries over 2 days, EventID 7024, Source: Service Control Manager, with the text saying "The Windows Firewall service terminated with service-specific error The parameter is incorrect.."

I also found one problem with an Outbound Rule that I made, but I cannot duplicate the error again. The rule was made to allow outbound the service 'Windows Time". But when I went to check the rule by viewing its properties, Programs and Services tab, Services Settings button, I find that the Windows Time service is no longer selected.
