Transfering Portable HD files Running XP to new Comp runing Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a old HD that is running XP that had my old Admin. Since my old Mother board fried I placed this HD in a kit to make it a external device. When i try to transfer these files into my new computer that is Running Vista Ulta 64 it gives me a message "you do not currently have permission to acess this folder. click continue to gain acess to this folder" when clicked you have to permit vista then it says permission denied go to the security tab. when there vista asked for permission to continue again then it gives you a message of taking ownership of the file to acess it.

point is... I have about a thousand files and documents that i need to copy into my new computer and it is prompting me for "taking ownership" of every little document that i have. is there a way to take ownership of the entire drive or a way to get arround this?

    Thanks!!
