To disable "Create a new account" option for users RRS feed

  • I want to disable the "Create a new account " link in the Manage accounts option so that a local user can not create an account on the system. Is there any option available in vista OS by which i can do the above settings. I can remove the "User Accounts" applet from control panel by the help of GPO. But i do not want to do that.

    Thank you for posting.

     

    Based on my research, to prevent the local user creating new user accounts, I think you can just setup a password for the Administrator account and provide the other users the Standard User Account. When the Standard User Account creates a new user account, a prompt which requires the Administrator account and password will appear; if the Standard user hasn’t this password, this operation cannot be continued.
