Queries regarding Search-messagetrackingreport and Get-messagetrackingreport RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All ,

Can someone please clarify me the following queries .

From which location these two commands Search-messagetrackingreport and Get-messagetrackingreport is fetching up the logs and showing the results ?

Was these information's are collected from the message tracking logs directory ?

Assume i have read the message and then i made it as unread , Will the command get-messagetrackingreport show the current state of the message or the previous state ?

    Please share your thoughts .

    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

Answers

  • Per my test, it will not change the status, when remark as unread:

    Read status:

    Mark as unread:

Re-get the status still shown as read:

    Hope it helps.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for contacting our forum.

Per my experience, the command search-messagetrackingreport fetch the message tracking logs, and when we enable the ReadTrackingEnabled it also retrieves the read status of the message.

But for your question that if the item re-mark as unread and if it'll affect the results of read status in the message tracking report, i have no ideas right now that if the status will be retrieve again or not.

I am having the test and will update you ASAP.

    Thanks for your patient.

    Regards,
