Exchange 2013 mailbox unable to connect Public Folder Server in Exchange 2007

  • Moved a Mailbox from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013, after that user is not able to access Public Folder in Exchange2007. No Public Folder defined in Exchange 2013 yet. And also as per outlook connection test it is trying to connect to Exchange 2007 Public folder server which is in remote AD site.

  • Hello,

After you move a mailbox from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013, the autodiscover will update your outlook profile if you use outlook 2007 or later version. I recommend you restart outlook to check the result. It the issue persists, I recommend you recreate outlook profile.

Besides, I recommend you migrate your public foler.

Here is the article for your reference.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your response. As recomanded in forums Public Folder Migration can be done only after all mailbox moved to Exch2013, We have around 30000+ users so it is going to take long time. I cannot set the exchange 2007 PF on Exch2013 database, i see only OAB mapping in client settings. I did recreate the profile and i am having recomanded OUTLOOK version but no luck. My outlook prompts for username/password when ever it try connects to PF in Exch 2007, if i cancel the prompt OUTLOOK works fine with all except public folder. And one more thing my outlook does not connect to PF in my local site, it is trying to connect remote site.

  • It looks like authentication issue, see if changing from WI to basic helps..

I think it should be basic on 2013 and WI on 2007.
