  • Question

  • Hi!

My Network Environment has as bellow

    - A Windows 2003 R2 Standard Edition X86 for Domain Controller.
    - A Windows 2003 R2 Standard Edition X64 for Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server.
    - Over 100 Users both Windows XP and Windows 7 Client.

And now i want to migration my Network Environment as bellow:

    - A Windows 2008 Standard Edition X86 for Domain Controller.
    - A Windows 2008 Standard Edition X64 for Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server. (Can we use Windows 2008 SE x86 for Exchange 2007?)
    - Over 100 Users both Windows XP and Windows 7 Client.

My question is, How can I migration from W2k3 to W2k8? and what are they effective with my Network Environment?

  • Why would you be installing Exchange 2007 now?  It's already one version behind.  You should be looking at Exchange 2010.

Exchange 2007 must run on a 64-bit operating system.  You cannot upgrade Exchange 2003 in place to any newer version, you must install a new server and move everything to it.  That's always been the recommended way to upgrade Exchange anyway.
