Avaya Gateway to Sonus call not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have SIP VoIP connectivity between Office 1 and Office 2. Office 1 is running Sonus Gateway while office 2 has Avaya IPO 500. Both are connected through a VPN configured on Fortigate Firewall.

Everything seems to be working but all the sudden staff are able to dial in from office 1 to office 2 but the outgoing calls from office 2 to office 1 are not working. Below are the logs taken from LS tool on sonus:

  • When this is happening please Check the network connectivity and Ports

Ideally Network trace would really help

  • What does this mean:

    2142590mS SIP Call Rx: 17

  • Ports are open dear. Still we are getting this error message 405 method not allowed. Do you think disabling REFER request method from the header will solve this problem?

  • I checked with Sonus engineer he is not applying this change. As per him, REFER is generated automatically by any SIP server and this method is mandatory for call transfer.

  • Hi Topone,

Check if the Sonus gateway support SIP refer. If it is not supported. You need to
Disable Refer Support in Lync Server Control Panel. It is enabled by default.

In this situation an  Avaya or Sonus Engineer or forum might provide more insight
