  • Question

  • I'm trying to enter a work schedule that starts on Sunday nights and runs through Friday evening for three teams.  For example, I want the first team to start work at 10pm on Sunday night and that team will work through Thursday night.  The second team would start at 6am on Monday and work through Friday, the third team would start the evening shift of Monday and end at 10pm of Friday.  Does anyone know how to set up that type of schedule in the software.

My next challenge is that I want to schedule over lapping work shifts.  So each team will have to work an extra 30min at the start and end of their perspective shifts.  So instead of a regular (default) 8 hours they will have a 9hr schedule.  This is another process that appears to be impossible for the software.  Can anyone assist me with this problem also.

  • Hi Delwin,

This is definitely possible to achieve your goal with MS Project. In order to do that, you have to define 3 calendars for your shift that you'll associate to resources. You'll be able to define specific working hours with overlapping. Then assign those calendars to resources.

    Hope this helps.
