Microsoft NPS Server not sending radius accoutning messages to external servers RRS feed

  • Can anyone help? We have a problem with Microsoft 2012 NPS Server. The Radius authentication works but the server is not sending out Radius Accounting messages to an external Radius Accounting server despite being configured to do so. We have done all the necessary configuration according to the documentation. The problem appears to be on the NPS application not working as expected.

  • Hi Lyneth Crighton,

    In order to account NPS log on external database, we need to ensure we have created an NPS database correctly on the external server.

    And check if network connection between NPS server and SQL server is well, we may use command ping to check the network connection between the two servers.

    At the same time, we may check if the issue is related with firewall rules, we may turn off firewall both on NPS server and SQL server, check if it will work.

    Besides, you may provide the link of the documentation you mentioned, it will be helpful if we can check the configuration.
