Enrolling iOS devices "not shown in Configuration Manager console" RRS feed

  • Question

  • After successfully enrolled my Windows RT I want to enroll my iOS devices (iPad 1 & iPhone 4). First step is completing the iOS configuration (uploading APN certificate). Next step I associated my devices by installing management profiles (https://manage.microsoft.com). All my application appears when starting the Company Portal App but my device will not appear in my Configuration Manager admin console.

When I select the Support tile in the Company App it says "Name not yet available", I'm not sure if this is a normal behavior?

    Any thoughts/pointers are welcome.

    Regards,

  • Hi all,

We have resolved this issue.  There are two scenarios this issue may occur: (These impact SCCM Unified only)

1: The customer has downloaded the Apple Cert prior to connecting to Intune, decided to use another account and then used the same certificate for the new account

2: The customer enrolled in the service, uploaded their Apple Cert and switched to another Intune account for some reason, even using a new Apple Cert.

In these cases the Apple Certificate can become stuck in the SCCM DB and will require a procedure to resolve.

If you feel your being impacted by this issue please contact support and reference this thread.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Ronny,

Do you see the devices in Configuration Manager?    It's possible they haven't contacted the service yet.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jon,

No, that's exactly the problem. Can you be more specific about the service ? Is there a way how to verify whether or not the devices contacted the service you mentioned?

I walked trough all Windows Intune Connector related log files at the Configuration Manager server side, but except the errors below I couldn't find any issues.

    Dmpdownloader.log

ERROR: Service health log: One (or more) of the enrollmentPolicy properties is null or empty for account 0dfefb98-0c57-4cb3-b78d-60890f62aa41 and userId ******************************385179

    PolicyPV.log

CDeviceEnrollmentGenericSCConfig::GenerateDevicePolicyXML: failed to retrieve DTGuid from AppModelname. Failed to create 1 settings policy. SignDevicePolicyBody failed (0x80070057).

It is unlikely but has configuration of my on premise dp (HTTP), influence on this? Just to be sure.

  • Hi Ronny,

Do your iOS devices have any profiles installed on them beside the Microsoft one we install?  You can look in Settings, General, Profiles on your iOS device.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jon,

No, the only profile available on my iOS devices is a Management Profile which contains of a Signing Certificate (manage.microsoft.com), Certificate (GUID issued by SC_online_Issuing), Web Clip (https://m.msub05.manage.microsoft.com) and a Mobile Device Management (Management Profile).

What strikes me is that every time I logged on at the Company Portal I have to create a profile again! For completeness I've reset my iOS devices just in case, but still no joy :-(

    Regards

  • Hi Ronny,

We'd need to collect some logs and do further troubleshooting if possible.  I would recommend opening a support case with Windows Intune support.

  • Hi,

What are the steps for this solution? I have a very similar issue. Thanks.

  • Hi,

Please be adviced to raise a Microsoft Intune support case as direct queries on Configuration Manager databases is officially not supported. Read this blog post for further explanation. Running the query is at your own risk. Hope this helps.
