Strange issue with sending to a manual distribution group RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day - we have a strange issue with one of our groups here and we are trying to determine if there is anthing we can potentially do to rectify the situation.

Once of our groups that was created has 3 members from the domain St-cyr.  julie@multimeubles-st-cyr.com  is one example.

When this group is selected from Outlook (2003, or 2010) Mail does not get delivered to these three, but others in the group (aprox 8 more in total) recieve this email just fine.

Now a strange thing - if you twist open the group (in the to: field)  so it shows each individual member, the email goes fine to all recipients.

The group has been deleted and recreated - and a seperate name has been given to the group - and this still happens.

    Any feedback would be appreicated.

  • Hi Mega,

Per your descritpion, some suggestion for you:
    1. DG1 contains 8 members and three members from the domain @multimeubles-st-cyr.com, so what about others, and what about the DG1's domain
    2. propose that the three members' domain is different from the DG1's domain, how do you add them into the DG1
    3. When you send email to the DG1, only the three member could not receive the email, right? So, are there some NDR, could you please post them here.

    Regards!

  • Hi Can you give a try as below:

    • 1. Remove all the three faulty users.
    • 2. Add one or one by one and then send an email to all see if that goes to that newly added specific users
    • 3. If all goes well then add the second one , if not then can give a try with other two users, through this you will be able to determine if any user membership causing the issue..

Apart from that check the below as well, i know  will applicable only when sending the email from outside but just give a try as well.

    • Go to the distribution list's Properties.
    • Click on the Mail Flow Settings tab.
    • Double-click Message Delivery Restrictions.
    • Uncheck the box "Require that all senders are authenticated."

  • What type of a group is it?  Universal? Non-Universal?

Are there any restriction who can send to the DG?

Same issue if you try to send via OWA?
