    Brand new Dell pcs came with Home and Business 2016 licenses and activation codes.

    When activation code is entered it asks for login email. I have used an email account that also has an office 365 subscription. The reason is to keep all licenses under single main email as rest of users/emails can come and go. First two pcs activated fine. On the third pc it came up with 'You have already installed Office on 2 computers'. Somehow it is not registering the new activation codes and assuming we are using Office 365 licenses. How can I get round that and activate using the activation codes?

  • According to https://products.office.com/en-us/home-and-business, Office Home & Business is for 1 PC only, so I suspect that you need one account for each product key/license.

    That's tricky. When these users leave their emails are deleted after a while. We however still want to retain the licenses for next users who use the respective pcs. This used to be normal in the past. Not sure why office desktop is so tightly connected to a unique email.
