How to rename osd files? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

You have a 188 character limit when publishing AppV apps via XenApp 6. Is there anyway to rename an osd file after the app has been sequenced? I have an osd file like so:

Launch Internet Explorer Browser 8.0.7600.16385.osd - If I publish it via XenApp, I add the url it needs to launch at startup behind it like so: Launch Internet Explorer Browser 8.0.7600.16385.osd http://social.microsoft.com but if I reach 188 characters, it fails.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • In 4.6: Use the sequencer to "Upgrade a Package" and start the "Sequencing wizard" in the tools menu.

in 4.6 SP1: use this KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2496835.

  • If you are using sequencer 4.6 then open your sequencer and click on "Modify an existing virtual application package" and then save the package with the name which you want and you can also change the name of the OSD accordingly while saving the package.
