  • my windows media player starts and stops then not responding?

    Does this happen whenever you use Windows Media Player and whatever file format you play?
    Did you check the "Application" log in the Windows Event Viewer to see if there's any record related to these Windows Media Player problems that could provide you with more detailed information?

  • 1. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories

    Run Windows Media Player related troubleshooters.

    2. Type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player in the search box and hit Enter.

    Select all the files that you see in the folder and delete.

    Restart the Windows Media Player.
