2010 automatically expands all my subtasks in a 2003 project plan RRS feed

  • Question

  • Guys,

When I open or edit the indent levels of a task in my 2003 Project file in MS Project 2010, 2010 expands all my subtasks and doesn't save the way I've kept my expansions/contractions.

Is there a way to resolve this?

  • Sapna,

I was editing my project plan all day and it seems to now be corrupted somehow.  The error states "No calculations can be performed now.  There is a circular relationshipo in task 852.  The successors of this task refer back to this task or its predecessors, causing a circular reference."

When I open the file, it has only ~260 tasks.  This project plan used to have 1500+ records.  I made a backup of the file a month ago, but have invested many hours into the file.

can you take a look at it and see if it is salvageable?  how can I upload it to you?

  • OK..sent, along with an export to an XLSX file, just to show you that there are about 1700 tasks in the pp.
