Multiple project summary tasks RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I'm new to Microsoft Project and would like to know how to create multiple project summary tasks to keep track of more than one project in one file. Right now, I've only been able to work with a single project summary task, which contains multiple summary tasks and corresponding subtasks.

    It sounds like you already have what you need, multiple summary tasks with corresponding subtasks. Why does that not meet your needs? What are you expecting?

  •  Create a master project and insert the other projects into the master project.     Each sub project will have a summary and the master project summarizes all the projects.

    Normally this might have been my first response but since the poster is a new user I was reluctant to suggest a potential "solution" of using a dynamic structure (master/subproject) without the accompanying warning about file corruption associated with those structures. I would rather first find out what the user is trying to accomplish and then suggest the most appropriate approach.
