Unable to save project schedule in PWA 2013. Job is getting struck with state "Getting queued". RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, Greetings for the day!

When we save changes in browser, the job created for this operation is always going to state “Getting queued” and its not changing state to “Success” forever. We also noticed one strange behavior. When we click on "Schedule" link in left navigation and when it renders schedule, its displaying status message “Saving” and then “Save completed successfully” in status display area at upper right corner.

We also tried to save changes in Microsoft Project desktop client, as soon as we click on Save button, its throwing below error and the job created for this operation is cancelled automatically with error message “Root element is missing.

Please let us know if anyone has experienced this issue and pointers to resolve. Thanks in advance!

Error in Microsoft Project Desktop Client:

The following job failed to complete. Job Type: Save Error ID: 9000(0x2328) Error Description: The project could not be saved to the server. Please retry saving the project. If the problem persists, save the project as a MPP file and contact your system administrator.

  • Since you are using Project 2013, then you could try this as the feature of "save for sharing" is still available to you.

    1.  Clear the cache

    2.  Save for Sharing

    3.  Save the file

If you are using timesheets etc, then it is worth heeding Barbara's advice in this thread.

  • Hello,

Is this for all projects, just new projects or just existing projects and for all users?

  • Hi Paul,

This is not for all projects. This issue is with one of the existing projects and same behavior for all users who have access to it.

  • you have some resources assigned to summary tasks? No resources should be assigned to these tasks if working with PWA.
