Change name and URL of managed path RRS feed

  • There have been some structure changes and I need to change the name and url of one of our managed paths.

    Is this doable through powershell? If not, what's the alternative?

    I don't think its possible to rename existing managed path. The correct way is to take backup of existing site collection and restore under new managed path.

    Agree with Mohit. It seems you can't change the name of the existing managed path directly.

    And for backup /restore site collection,here is a link you can refer to with powershell:
