SSAS 2008- Aggregating Percentages... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I have a fact table which has the following metrics... The following values are percentages...

    Value A       Value B
    85.6            86.7
    78.9            79.9
    92.1            91.1

These are linked to a Branch Dimension... When I process the cube at the top level of Branch Dimension I get the cumulative values of Value 1 and Value 2.  What i need is aggregated percentages of Value A and Value B, How do I achieve this...
     I am using SSAS 2008.

    Thank you

  • You can't do it from the straight percentages. You need to store the numerator and denominator in the cube as measures and then calculate the percentage as a calculated measure. Then you can calculate the percentages at aggregated levels and you could add the numerators and denominators for A & B to calculate a combined percentage. If you don't want to display the raw measures you can always set their visibility property to false.
