SharePoint site is getting redirected to mbllists.aspx in mobile view RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

We are trying to use SharePoint desktop site in Mobile browser . We have the same compat.browser in all the WFEs but from 1 WFE site is loading as expected in mobile view (trying from from developer tool) and from other WFEs site is getting redirected to SharePointSite/_layouts/mobile/mbllists.aspx. All the Lists are showing up in List view.

To troubleshoot the issue . I just removed the compat.browser file from the working WFE server , then it was getting redirected to mbllists.aspx Means- IIS is not recognizing the compat.browser file.

Please suggest if some has faced the same issue and got the resolution. Thanks

  • Hi,

You can modify “compat.browser” file to change redirect behavior for different WFEs under this location:

    \inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\<web application port>\App_Browsers\compat.browser

For example, settinging “IsMobileDevice” attribute to “FALSE” will cause SharePoint to bypass the mobile view for that browser.

Please refer to the links below for detailed information.

Various ways of Customizing the Mobile redirection feature in SharePoint 2010.

Configure SharePoint Server 2010 for Mobile Device Access.
