Can we can implement App-V licensing with SMB file streaming RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are currently implementing an App-V 4.6 SP2 full infrastructure in our organization, and we have all the applications stored under an SMB File server. We do have two App-V Management servers tied to a load balancer. Also, we have configured the ApplicationSourceRoot registry key in the Client machines pointing to the SMB File server. The apps streams successfully from the SMB file server. So far everything went good.

However, when we try to implement the licensing options we see that App-V licensing only works withRTSP protocols. Also, we tried everything best we can but we couldn't implement RTSP Streaming from an SMB file server.  The protocol changes from RTSP to File:// protocol with the use of ApplicationSourceRoot registry key.

Can anyone suggest a workaround to this issue, where we can implement App-V licensing with SMB file streaming ?

    Thanks,

    Arun
