Project Server Tasks not updating in the main site after changes made to the task in outlook 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have configured the exchange server user in project and in the exchange server per the instructions.

and when a PM assigns me a task it does show up in my outlook task list.

however, when i change a date or anything else, it does not change in the main PMs project web app.

nor does it ask the PM for approval.

so either the exchange server cannot transmit/communicate back to project server (although its receiving fine)

    or

there is additoinal configuration needed in project server

    any ideas?

  • Does PM receives task update notification ?

Have your PM publish the project plan as well.

  • no.  the task does not change in the web app nor does the pm get notified of  a request or approval for a change.

  • ok, there is no setting to manage data flow from Outlook>>Exchange>>PWA

Most of the time issue is related to EWS (Exchange Web Service)

Request your exchange administrator to validate Free Busy , OOF and Availability  status

  • is there a link/discussion page of what these should be set to?

i.e. OOF > internal only, external only, etc.

  • I am not aware about related thread, but this is something which I have come cross working with one customer.

I think easiest way to find out is to discuss with your exchange admin.

Request him to check OOF and Free Busy settings on EWS
