After removing domain, I cannot logon to computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have removed a computer from a domain, then the computer restarted automatically.

Now I cannot log back in, I don't know any user x password combinations that work. Original user of the computer was someone who left the company earlier. How should I get back access to the computer? It's a Lenovo Thinkpad E550 with Windows 7 professional.

    Thank you

  • Hi JenoFarago,

In addition, this problem occurs because the user name and password that you previously used are available for logon only to a domain. Your computer is no longer a member of a domain. Therefore, your logon attempt must be validated on the local computer by using the local security database. To log on to your computer, you must use the local user account existing in the Security Accounts Manager (SAM), not the domain user account.

  • Hi,

Try to login with administrator rights and add the computer to domain again while asking authentication put administrator credential.
