Migrate DirectAccess from Win2008 R2 to Forefront UAG RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have succesfully deployed DA in a test environment within my company, but now I want to use the NAT64 capability that offers the UAG version of DA.

Is it possible to just install UAG in my DA server, with only migrating settings or do I have to begin a new deployment?

Answers

  • That's right. there is no way to migrate the configuration to UAG.

On the Windows DirectAccess Management Console, you should Reset the DirectAccess configuration. This should revert all of the configuration from the server. Also, you should remove the 3 GPOs that were created by Windows DA.

Now you can start configuring UAG DA from scratch

  • I don't believe there is any migration guidance yet...as UAG "owns" DA, I would assume you need to start from scratch...
