Vista Home Basic Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Got the following error all of a sudden. It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Laptop with Vista Home Basic & has been running fine for weeks...I don't have a recovery disk (wasn't supplied & I didn't burn one, but I've requested one from the Manufacturer...)

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.

    2. Choose your language settings, and then click "next."

    3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    File: \windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe

    Status: 0xc0000221

Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for posting.

Regarding the issue, generally, we need repair the Windows Vista on your computer with Windows Vista installation DVD.

I know that you have requested a DVD from the manufacture. Based on the current situation, please wait for the DVD coming and repair the system with it then.

As the Windows Vista comes with the laptop, I suspect it is an OEM version; therefore, if it is needed, it is recommended that you contact the computer’s manufacture for further help.

Hope the issue can be resolved soon. Thanks.
