Epson epl 5900L driver (signed download?) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    on a production system there is an windows xp (32bit) without internet connection. There is no way to connect it to it. Aim is now to connect an Epson epl 59000 L.

    Have tried the driver of epson's homepage but actually it failed. It complained that the LPT1 port had an issue to connect the printer. On driver installation it mentioned that it is not an signed driver of microsoft. Maybe that's the main issue.

    Does anybody knows a workaround or an working driver for this combination (32 bit XP without internet and an epl 5900L)?

    Many thanks

  • Internet connection makes no difference on a signed/unsigned driver.. It sounds like the driver you downloaded isn't actually a driver.. Did you get it from Epson's site? Or was it from a generic Driver dump?

    to bypass the security;

    Right click on My computer

    Select System Properties

    Select the hardware tab

    Click on Driver signing button

    Change the action to Warn, or Ignore, and Click OK.

    Alternately you can use Group Policy to do the same thing..

    NOTE: Doing this and installing unknown drivers on any machine puts a serious risk that you may infect one, or all machines on your network.. this information is USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
