Windows 2003 server sp2 with exchange 2003 sp2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi to all,

I have a question before deploy sp2 in windows 2003 server with exchange sp2 in my enterprise.

I can see in Microsoft the system requeriments for exchange sp2:

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1

I´ve seen there are some problems related mobile devices to connect exchange with sp2 and others crash problems.

Could you confirm me there are no problems to install windows 2003 server sp2 in the exchange enterprise?

    thanks and regards,

    Francisco Blanco.

  • Hi Francisco,

The reason, you can not see Windows 2003 SP2 in the system requirements of Exchange 2003 SP2, is Exchange 2003 SP2 released before Windows 2003 SP2.

Basically Exchange 2003 works on Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows 2003 R2 too... Check updated system requirement below...

You can check the list of applicatons which are passed the compatibility test in Windows 2003 SP2.
How to determine application compatibility with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

There are some known issues with SNP feature of Windows 2003 SP2 with Exchange so make sure that you have installed below update to turn SNP feature off..
An update to turn off default SNP features is available for Windows Server 2003-based and Small Business Server 2003-based computers

  • Hi Amit,

I appreciate your support for my question. It´s obvious sp2 run successfully with Exchange 2003 SP2. I will remember to install KB 948496 about SNP feature too.

    Many thanks,

    Francisco Blanco
