Instant search : look for part of a word but not in the beginning of a word RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When I use instant search, I came to notice that I can search for parts of text in the beginning of a new word / sentence

but not in the middle of the word.

    example :

    search : glo

    shows : global

    but not : agglomeration

What syntax to use so I get all the results (globall, agglomeration, ...))

    Thx,

    Wim.

  • The search inside Outlook is different than the Search function in Windows. In my experiences it does not work either.

  • Agree. You may try to search “*glo” and you will get the result.

  • that worked, in explorer. So took this into mail ...

I tried it in outlook 2010 to look for part of emailaddress.

Nope, no results.  Is there another syntax needed ?

I thaught it was the same "search / index " engine.

    Kind regards,

    Wim.
