Print Issue - Nothing prints RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are seeing an issue with a handful of Windows 7 Enterprise systems. All are set to use a print server for printing. Everything worked for sometime with print jobs. Then over the last few weeks, some users no longer are able to print to their assigned printer. When we do a test print, it appears to go through but then nothing prints. Kind of like it disappears. However, if we setup a new printer connection allowing the user to print directly to the printer, it works. We have restarted the server and troubled workstations, we restarted the print spoolers but have not been able to resolve this issue; most printers are HP and others are not having this issue, just only a handful.

    Thx for any assistance provided.

  • Hi Indianboy,

For the print issue, we could try to run the following troubleshoot tool to have a diagnostic.

Diagnose and fix printer and printing problems automatically

Please run the following command line to clear the printer spooler cache to have a check.

    net stop spooler

    del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q /F /S

    net start spooler

    Best regards

  • Perhaps there was optional drive reinstallation in update procedure. Make sure that you are using original drivers that has worked for some time. (Nothing comes from itself. Track back installation and change of configuration.)

You can consult the issue with HP support services/forum http://support.hp.com/cz-cs

You will need to provide more information on printer type, printer driver, print server configuration and error logs.
