  • Question

  • so can I install  office 2000 disc onto my new computer already equipped with office home and student without compatibility problems?  I need 2000 in order to transfer my outlook contacts to my new computer systems.  My concern is I don't want the old windows/excell/powerpoint programs to over ride my new updated programs on Office home.

  • (Sarcasm ON.) Good subject line. (Sarcasm OFF.)

The obvious approach would be to install only Outlook 2000. You can do that with a Custom installation.

Unfortunately, Outlook 2000 is supposed to be incompatible with Windows 7.

I'm not sure what to recommend. Perhaps the simplest way would be to but and install Outlook 2010, but it's not inexpensive, and I'm not certain it can import from old Outlook archives. (I'd expect so, but I haven't done it.)
