NPS access based on OS version

Hi All,

We are using NPS Windows 2008 and configured policies to access based on AD group membership. We want to apply additional controls so that the users can only connect from Windows 7 and above and they should not be able to connect from mobile phones also. In conditions Tab , we can add operating system condition for that RAS client . but what is the format of definig Windows 7 operating system and above. I have already checked the below link for list of Windows OS versions, but that is not getting applied. For example I am trying to use Operating System Version as 6.1.7600 but the format supported in the field is 00000.00000

If I try to put the version in the field it becomes 61760.00000.

Please suggest

Hi,

Sorry for replying so late. I tried that on my NPS server and got the same behavior. Maybe you can use the edition number 6.1 with client operate system role. More information:

Hi Susie,

Thanks for the reply, I have tried few options but seems that this option does not work. I tried selecting the Operating System Role as Client but Wireless stops working. After that I have selected the Computer Architecture as x86 and x64 but when I try to access from any of these platforms it fails.

It seems that this option do not work if we select any of the setting. Don't know if this option is for end user OS or Access Points.
