  • That question has nothing to do with ConfigMgr. You should post it to a Windows Server or VMM related forum.

  • Need some clarification.

what i want to know is we have to install sccm 2012 in the virtual build and create the migration jobs with source as physical server. This happens same like Sccm 2007 to 2012 migration.Am i Right?

    Apologies If am wrong.

  • So you want to create a new ConfigMgr site? This is one possible solution (using migration jobs then), but why don't you just use P2V (physical to virtual migration)?

  • yes.P2V is used to migrate all the settings of existing server if Iam not wrong.

Below are the high level steps as per my understanding to do this using P2V tool.

Capture the physical OS by creating a task sequence.

Deploy the Captured image and install the site server on top of that.

But we don't have OS deployment feature configured in our current infrastructure.

Is there any option available to do this?

  • That's not right. You are mis-understanding P2V. You would do this using, for example VMM, if you had Hyper V virtualisation.

    Here is a good example

Torsten is correct though. This is not a question for this forum.
