Migrating VM from Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 to Server 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there, Our department opted to play with Hyper-V Server first since we're new to the whole visualization thing. And since we're now confident with our VMs, we're now in the process of moving the VMs from Hyper-V Server to Windows Server 2012.

I've gone through all the setup required for live migration and have successfully done so between two Hyper-V Server 2012 R2's but I can't get the VMs to migrate to a Server 2012 machine. It gives me an error saying "Failed to establish a connection with host 'host': The request is not supported. (0x80070032) Failed to establish a connection because of an unsupported protocol version (protocol version 5.0).

I've checked and double checked the delegations in our AD and the migration settings in both servers. All are correct. I've tried googling it but can't find anything helpful. The closest I found is a hotfix for Server 2008 R2 saying that the cause is the authentication timeout is too short.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
