IE7 and 8 on XP/Windows7 "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" RRS feed

    Users are getting "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" on all web-based applications.

    When launching IE or while working within the web-based apps, this error message will display.

    Some web-based apps will freeze and IE will stop responding. Sometimes when launching IE it will automatically produce the error; can close IE and then re-launch and will be able to access site(s). Sometimes it will take several attempts until a web-site can be displayed.

    This is occurring on multiple workstations throughout the organization.  The commonality seems to be all web-based apps.

    IE versions: 7 and 8

    OS: XP and Windows 7

    Can anyone provide any insight as to what could be causing this issue or any resolutions?

    When was the last time and updates installed.

    Reset ie9 manually,

    Click the Start button on the Taskbar,

    Click on Control panel,

    Click on Internet options,

    Go to the Advanced section,

    Click on Reset button on the bottom,

    Check the box to Delete personal settings,

    Use the recommended setup and install options.
