Exchange Active Sync Security Settings - Accept/Ignore Client Certificate RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi All,

Can anyone help me on understanding the Active Sync Security Settings -

Can the above settings be possibly " a threat to security" ?

Why do we need Accept Client Certificate/Require Client Certificate Options ?

  • The settings that you have are fine.

It means that the authentication will use regular username and password over the server side SSL.

Client certificates are a pain to manage - as every user needs to have their own certificate. That means you have to setup a certificate authority and manage the certificate use, which is different for every kind of device.

    Simon.
