Sharepoint 2003 on SQL 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Currently we are running share point 2003 on SQL server 2008 standard, but we are upgrading all our SQL Servers to 2012 standard.

Does anyone know if SharePoint 2003 will work ok on SQL Server 2012?

    Cheers.

    Simon

  • SQL Server 2012 is not supported with SharePoint 2003, though for that matter neither is SQL Server 2008.

And then that said, SharePoint 2003 is no longer in support so really at this point what does it matter.

I haven't tried it out but I would guess it could work. You may want to keep your databases at a SQL Server 2005 compatibility level (I'm assuming this is already the case).

  • Hi Simon,

The article doesn't mention the SQL 2012 is supported with SharePoint 2003 as Jason have written, I think you can backup your SharePoint 2003 databases firstly, then copy and test it in a SQL server 2012 test environment.
