Can't Install on program files

Question

Hi everyone,
I was trying to install K-5 Video Reversal Tool which used to work great on my previous laptop. I run Win7 32 bit. but now it seems impossible to install lots of programs into the program files.
The dialog box shows: Error opening file for writing
C:\Program Files\K-5 Video Reversal tool\Combined-Community-Codec-Pack 2010-10-10.exe
I dont think the problem comes from the installation pack coz i have the one i used to install previously and i also have downloaded a new one, but both give the same result. Can anyone help?? Greatly appreciated
P.S. K-5 is a great tool if any of you have been searching for one click and done reversing tool for video files ;) That's why i need it seriously

Sounds like a user permissions issue.
Have you tried using Run As Administrator when you reun the installer?
Right-click on the install file, select Run as Administrator from the context menu.

Hello,
try running it using an elevated prompt like pvdg42 already suggested. You can also try to disable UAC.
If this does not help, run chkdsk /r /f and install System Update Readiness tool for your OS.

Just found this software and it would be very cool to use, but I am having the same issue. I will try the solutions below. And report back if I am successful. Screenshots of my issue below. Thanks!

Well, that didn't take long -- run as admin trick worked! Installed and up and running now. About to try it out. Thanks, pvdg42!!Sunday, December 4, 2011 6:10 AM

Obviously a rookie. Now I can't get it to work. Even followed dev's advice here:http://oakdome.com/k5/video-reversal-tool/K-5-video-reversal-tool.php and converted the MOV file to WMV - still no luck. No errors, but when completed - it says it has completed - I can't find the file anywhere on my system, despite valid search effort. Any advice? Thanks in advance.Sunday, December 4, 2011 6:39 AM
