Win 7 64 bit, locking up RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok,

So I have been booting windows 7.  I get blocky colored blocks and lines like a bad reception tv, after a few minutes.  I reset and then it's ok but if I dont do anything, after around the same amount of time, it locks up.  Not sure what could be causing this.  I have booted into safe mode, and it too will just lock up.  No video issues, just locks up.

I ran a memory test and it seemed ok, no problems were reported.

I can give you ALL the specs of my pc if you need it.

AMD Phenom II 1090T, ASUS m4a89gtd pro/usb3, XFX radeon hd 5770, OCZ AMD Black Edition 4gb RAM, whatever else ya need.

  • Sound like the issue has to do with the graphic card. Btw did you OC or crank your rig? When you mention locked up, when this occurs i assume you can't use the keyboard and mouse as well?

Suggest you to swap to a workable graphic card or use the onboard graphic if any and see how it goes from here
