short question. Do you auto approve all Updates in WSUS as you have SCCM to verify the Update process?

  • No, you normally don't approve anything in WSUS. If this WSUS is used by ConfigMgr, then you should do all the Actions in ConfigMgr.

So even if WSUS says Needed and unapproved, no worrys as SCCM is downloading and managing?

  • Just don't use the WSUS console at all. There is no need for it when it's integrated in ConfigMgr.

  • WSUS is only needed for the Clients to scan against the Update Catalog and for ConfigMgr to sync the Update Metadata. Downloading and deploying the Updates is happening from ConfigMgr.
